What did I tell you! I knew those OIA chaps wouldn’t forget about that spying malarky!
I have just returned from another one of those poorly catered Security Council meetings, I don’t know where these chaps get their snacks from but it is just not up to scratch. I expected better, and with the catering department trying out all these lovely new exotic snacks, better would have been easy to achieve! It is just not good enough I say!
Mind you, at least I was invited this time, I didn’t have to splash my way in after all the important words had been said this time! It turned out it was a good thing I was there, not only did they provide woeful snacks, they also proposed a plan to keep an eye on the lovely fellows in the Rainforest Raft.
They used grand words like surveillance, observation and intelligence gathering, but, when you get right down to it, we all know they are talking about spying! I told them I was having none of it, none at all! I was getting quite cross about it when Brian Russetcoat pointed out that there seems to be no need to spy on these fellows as they are showing us around their entire home and workplace, the Toca as it is called. This is their equivalent to the Holt I am told and a very fine place it is too according to Zsofia and Simon! Brian went onto say that several of our Temporal team and their rainforest equivalent are already working on projects so any sort of underhanded noseying is not needed at all!
Come to think of it I am not sure that Brian said noseying, but he should have done for that is what it would be! He made some very valid points but the OIA chaps didn’t seem to be taking them on board. They seem to believe that Lontra Bigondegigantes and the Brazilian cohort pose some sort of threat to otterkind!
I can’t see it myself, they seem like perfectly decent fellows to me and Brian and Debbie had a long chat with Lontra when he…didn’t show up in the time wheel room… I mean they didn’t find out interesting things that I am not supposed to know about, they definitely didn’t! Anyway, like I said, decent fellows and fast friends with Simon and ZSofia now so can’t be apocalyptic at all!
I said as much in the meeting but there seemed to be some disagreement from the OIA ranks, they say that These friendly overtures could be an elaborate double bluff or some such nonsense!
The meeting was shaping up to be entirely non productive and argumentative because these chaps just wouldn’t listen to me, when Brian Russetcoat proposed a compromise. Compromise is all well and good, but I am not normally the type of otter to compromise on topics such as nefarious underhanded dealings like this! However Brian was making some sense and we were running dangerously low on snacks so we came to an arrangement. It is a good thing Brian is such an intelligent fellow I can tell you! He proposed a compromise that brought the whole spying malarky out into the open and called it a security exchange! The upshot of this exchange is that Olivia Sharpclaws, leader of the ordinary above board Raft Security contingent is going to go along with Peter and Zsofia on their next mission and have a nice chat with the Rainforest security chief and come back to tell the OIA to keep their whiskery noses out as everything is as it should be! Brian said words like impartial observation and facilitation of intelligence exchange, but I am sure he meant that the upshot would be them keeping quiet and leaving us all alone!
My goodness! All that talk of spying and poor catering has made me quite peckish I can teel you! I am off to the catering department to see if I can lay my paws on some of the splendid soup they are turning out these days!

Catering is a MOST important facet of ANY meetings ! If they want the members to show up and remain gruntled (as opposed to disgruntled), the powers that be will see to proper catering !

It absolutely is!! In Lutras world the catering is the most important aspect to nearly everything! He definitely needs to remain well fed and gruntled in order for anything to happen at all!! 😁
