Hello everyone, it’s Penny Paddlepaws here! There are some very sudden and strange things going on here at the holt, and it was decided that I should write and tell you about what we know! According to Brian Russetcoat I am one of the more inconspicuous of the team here, but you would still recognise me from my Influential Otters interview! This is important because we need you to know that this is not a prank! We have managed to hack into Commander Longwhiskers’s log from the quantum lab and are trying to get this post out on the external network that Lucy uses to make the regular posts public!

Sorry I think I’d better start again nearer the beginning!

Late yesterday afternoon the Holt received this uncharacteristic message from Commander Longwhiskers and it has us very worried indeed!

From the desk of Commander Longwhiskers:

It saddens me to announce that the Holt and therefore the rest of the UK Otter community is now at immediate risk of annexation and subjugation by a deplorable and disreputable band of miscreants.

Following on from this it is my unfortunate duty to put in place the following emergency measures:

• While I am definitely still in command around here, many of my day to day duties will be usurped taken on by Conrad Shortwhiskers, Controller of the OIA
• The fine ranks of the OIA will be supplementing the Holts own security team and providing extra patrols throughout the day and night
• There will be a 9pm curfew in place throughout the Holt which will be strictly enforced
• Use of the time wheel will be limited to authorised otters only
• No hamsters will be allowed out unsupervised

So you see, we are very worried about this! The content of the dispatch is very worrying but the tone is also of great concern to us! It Barely sounds like the commander at all, it is a little more… well… direct than he normally is and somewhat contradicts his well publicised opinions!

Brian and Debbie have been along to his office, minnow sandwiches in paw, to see what is going on but have been met with the OIA security patrols who said that Commander Longwhiskers is too busy for interruptions at the moment. That doesn’t sound like him at all, he is generally very keen on interruptions, especially if they contain snacks!

I am not sure who will get to make the next update, but we are going to see if we can make use of the time wheel to get around the curfew and figure out what is happening!
