Back in office

Goodness me!

Well, I never!

That was an absolutely marvellous job all round! I couldn’t be clear on what was going on during this whole thing because that damnable Conrad Shorttail chap wouldn’t leave me alone, and even if he did those guard fellows were sticking to me like glue…

I tried my best to keep them off their guard so to speak, what with the running backwards and forwards to the kitchen for snacks and more snacks. There were so many snack orders that even I had trouble getting through them. That is not a situation I find myself in very often I can tell you!

I did give it a good go mind you, and it was a useful tactic to distract that Conrad as well as the guards. Conrad was not a fellow who was used to snacks of the quality we normally partake of around here, this much was obvious from the dreadful catering he organised for those endless meetings and I must say proffering a mackerel canape or snail and sardine souffle at opportune moments sometimes put him off his game I can tell you! It was not a lot compared to the marvellous resistance efforts and the Brazilian initiative, but it was the best I could muster on short notice!

Mind you, we all had short notice… I wonder if all coups would go differently if the reprehensible miscreants had to file their plans in advance! Now there’s an idea! I might just instigate that! Some sort of Giving Appropriate Notice of a Coup form which needs to be filed at least three weeks in advance, that way we can stop this sort of thing from getting out of hand! Yes indeed that sounds tremendous!

Anyway where was I…of yes marvellous efforts all around from the wonderful young otters here at the Holt. Not just here either, the River chaps were instrumental in saving the day! I am even proud of those little hamsters, I never thought I’d say that but there you are, they put on a very good show of being menaces, and all the while they were carrying vital messages! Can’t be all bad, eh!

Now, I’d better get on, We have a good deal of clearing up and sorting out to do, and we need to get to the bottom of the reason for all this nonsense! Simon and Debbie have some ideas but they are going to have to spend some time going through Conrad’s financial gobbledygook before they have a final idea, and we are going to try to get some answers from the reprobate himself! Not to mention the state of this office! I mean it is good to be back here but, really, someone has done something to it! My familiar filing piles and lovely towers of books have just disappeared and there is far more desk showing than is really sensible in an office!

Before we start all of that though I need to go and see the whole team, everyone is gathered in the great hall and I’d better get along to make sure they know how marvellous they all are! I’d better go soon too as it is fairly crowded down there, what with all of the extra large Brazilian fellows alongside the Holt locals! I am just hoping there are some snacks, It has been a while since I had anything and I could really do with a minnow sandwich I can tell you!
