Good morning Otters and other fellows!
Before I start I would just like to thank Lucy Littlepaws for writing last update…she did a first rate job filling in, absolutely first rate! I fully intend to bring you more from her Influential Otter interviews just as soon as I can. I am told the Otterbank Times is running the whole series on a weekly basis. I believe there is a lot of interest in hearing more about the Otters at the forefront of the new time travel technology. Quite right too they are all fascinating!
There has been an awful lot going on around here since Peter and Zsofia got back from their first adventure! The information they collected has really focused all of the minds in the research departments I can tell you! I myself have been involved in quite a number of discussions. We needed to decide where we are going to send the time adventurers next and what their trips need to be focused on. I was all for sending as many trips as possible as soon as we can. Go everywhen and anywhen as many times as we can and grab all the things we can possibly carry, that was my idea! It has been explained to me, several times I hasten to add, that this may not be the most sensible approach. Debbie seems to believe that blundering about in time all willy nilly could cause more problems than it solves. I am certain I made no mention of blundering about but Debbie was adamant! Danger to the time space coninuinum apparently and something about creating paradoxical situations and folds in event space or some such thing. Sounds quite over dramatic if you ask me! However she’s the expert and there were some splendid words being bandied about so slightly more conservative plan has been put together.
I am assured that Brian Russetcoat has been furiously working on the timewheel calibration and the cedric : chocolate seed ratio has been calculated such that we should now be able to send Otters anywhere in time that we want. I stuck my head in the time lab to check his progress but he was looking thoughtful, he had one of his faces on You know the face, it is the one that stares off all wistfully and you can just tell he is going to start enthusing and explaining and enthusing some more. So I ducked back out before I got cornered! I did see a large circular blackboard, with large number and symbols all around a large wheel. Where did he get a circular blackboard at such sort notice, that’s what I’d like to know, I didn’t sign for it I am quite sure!

Anyway, the plan! We made one and it is fantastic! We are going to go forward in time in small increments first instance, then go on forays to try to gather information pertaining to the OIA and Horace the Wildcat. There was mention of trying to talk to the future time otters I believe and possibly venture out into the world beyond the Holt. Suffice it to say there is a very detailed plan in place, very detailed indeed with some extensive notes. I have to confess I was somewhat distracted by some rather lovely snail biscuits with a fish egg dip that Simon had rustled up.
It is all going to go swimmingly I am sure, in fact I believe Peter and Zsofia are ready for the off any time now! I will let you know as soon as they bring me any news. For now, however, I am going to ring the Scottish Sub-Raft to see if they know any wildcats and possibly see if they have any of their fine whisky available to send down here. Medicinal purposes of course!

This is indeed a superb plan – especially the bit about the wildcats and the whisky. Very important supplies to have, whisky! I can’t see why time travelling willy-nilly would be a problem, but then again that’s why we have the experts working on such things! That blackboard looks very mysterious. I don’t know what those markings denote, but I’m sure they are exciting!

I believe that Lutra was very focused on the whisky…
I am sure Brian knows what the markings represent, something time wheel related no doubt… I’ll ask him when he stops being wistful!

Don’t disturb his whistfullness too soon – it’s a good look for him! Also – I am pleased to see that the Cedric : seed ratio has been perfected. Chocolate seeds, too!

His wistfulness is important I think that is when is main thinking gets done 🙂 and it does suit him!
Cedric does love a chocolate seed… it is important to get the ratio right so that he doesn’t have too many and catapult the adventurers in to the far future… or past…

It all sounds most certainly like a plan. Especially the Scottish connection. I suppose it is possible that there could be some French otters who could be usefully involved in searching for French wildcats and, oh, possibly sending a few bottles of medicinal claret over, too. Or perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself…without the benefit of time travel…

I suspect Simon Swifttail has French connections after is time at the Seine university… he probably already has a supply 😊
