Horace the wildcat is indeed a fine fellow!

Good day chaps, I have been extremely busy these last few days, as I think I mentioned in my previous post, reviewing all the time travel reports from the past few weeks. I believe I am starting to get to the bottom of the sudden appearance of that Lontra Bigondegigantes fellow. Brian will tell me nothing about what they discussed and Peter and Zsofia seem to know him a lot better than the rest of the fellows down there in the quantum lab so I decided to look for clues in the reports. I found some whoppers in there let me tell you!

Ahh yes good point, Lucy Littlepaws has popped in, as is her wont, and she has reminded me that I need to tell you what a fine fellow Horace is!

Horace Felis-Sylvestris

He arrived this morning with Caliope Softfur and we have had quite a interesting time already, We had a quick catch up with Olivia Sharpclaws who was very keen to get his opinion on the Holts defences, just in case an apocalypse should happen along. I think he is going to be very useful in that department and so far he doesn’t seem to be an advocate of spying and other such underhanded dealings. The meeting seemed to go swimmingly, well as swimmingly as it could go when it had to take place in one of the drier meeting places, Horace is not a fan of water, or so I am told. He and Olivia were having a very fine discussion about the latest in underwater menace detection and using what sounded like some very advanced tactical jargon. There was one minor misunderstanding when Horace met Cedric and his hamster squad, we had to explain in very short order that these little chaps were not menaces for detecting, nor indeed were they walking snacks! No harm done though and I took that opportunity to introduce him to the catering department and explain that they will always be on hand to provide a tasty snack. Talking of snacks there was a very fine selection on offer in the kitchens today, there was everything from their wonderful minnow sandwiches to some new mouse and vole based recipes made, I am told, in Horace’s honour! They were all just laid out on lovely platters, very convenient I must say!

What’s that now?
Oh? are you sure?

Sorry, Lucy Littlepaws is still here and she informs me that those platters were laid out ready for this afternoon’s official Holt-wide reception for Horace which, I suppose, does explain why the chefs looked so cross when Horace and I helped ourselves! Got to be a good thing though, a bit of quality control never goes amiss and I’m always happy to help in that department! Once we had been unceremoniously shooed out of the kitchen, for reasons which are at least now a little clearer, I showed Horace to his marvellous quarters and came back here to figure out if I could instigate an anti-shooing policy. I am not sure Raft commanders should be shooed away from snacks, not sure at all!

Talking of snacks and suchlike, I am going to head to this Reception for Horace, it is the Holt’s official welcome to him you know and it promises to be a fantastic shindig! I believe I have to give a speech, but once that is out of the way we can all get on with the vole-vol-au-vents and splendid salmon concoctions I saw in the kitchen!
