Listen very carefully I shall say this only once…

Hi there it’s Lucy Littlepaws here again!

So I have a few more updates for you, It has been quite an eventful few days!

First of all Simon Swifttail came dashing into our temporary headquarters earlier today! He was hopping from paw to paw and bouncing about in an a way that lead me to believe he would burst if he didn’t say all of the words all at once! Once we had got him focused and facing in the right direction he told us the news!

Apparently he has been studying some of the artefacts brought back from the early temporal experiments and he is convinced that there are subtle differences between those and the way that reality is playing out! The wording of Lutra’s announcement for example, apparently it has similar content but the tone and wording are quite different! We agreed, this was very interesting, but we weren’t sure why it was the cause of all the dashing about and pittery pattery paws. He says it has allowed him to calibrate some of the more obscure passages of the prophecy and He and Seska have been looking at the translation of some of the key words again! He says that while it is a very expressive language in many ways, Ancient Otter is not the best at expressing some more modern concepts! Seska believes that the translation of the symbols that mean Otters of the Apocalypse shares some twitchy bits (I don’t think twitchy bits is the technical term, but it’s close) with the words for influence and that this is a synonym for agency, although the context is different! There was a lot more explanation and some more excited rushing about, but the most exciting outcome is they now believe that the OIA are, in fact the Otters of the Apocalypse!

This could very well be an extremely interesting development, and it is quite reassuring as it means that the trust we placed in the Rainforest Otters is likely to be justified. We felt all along that they weren’t the Otters of the Apocalypse, but all of this is pointing towards us being right! It also means we might actually be able to get ahead of the game. Simon and Seska believe that the phrase “The Otters of the Apocalypse are getting paid” might be significant and they, along with Brian and Debbie are comparing the rogue time trips with points of economic significance throughout history!

Secondly, we have a temporary headquarters, you may have gathered that by now come to think of it. Anyway it is Penny Paddlepaws’s lab. She made the case that her experiments needed constant monitoring to stave off dire quantum effects! She used big words, much bigger than dire, and explained that the Cedric situation would be nothing in comparison to what would happen if she weren’t allowed access to her lab at all times! We do have to be careful though and can’t really be there at the same time too often but it is so full of complicated notes and diagrams that leaving messages for each other is less conspicuous!

Lastly we have now got a firmer idea of who we can definitely trust, and have decided that we are forming what could loosely be termed a resistance movement. Although a very low key one at the moment as we can’t do anything until we have access to the time wheel!
